The Project

We were contacted by Sonny Gill in January 2015. Sonny explained that he was looking to develop and modernise one of his fisheries, which would become a ‘model flagship’ with a ‘corporate colour scheme’ for his other businesses. It was therefore important that we spent sufficient time on site visits and meetings to determine his precise requirements. At this consultation stage we were able to make appropriate recommendations based upon our depth of knowledge and experience. The plans were extensive and entailed a complete refurbishment of the shop, and associated rooms, including, preparation rooms, storage areas, staff facilities, shop fixtures, offices and fittings.

In addition walls were to be demolished to enable the fishery to increase in size and to accommodate fixed seating areas. As with all our projects our dedicated designer constructed a 3D visual design detailing the proposed finishes. Consultation throughout this stage with Sunni enabled us to provide him with a design, which would transform the fishery into a modern state-of-the-art establishment and importantly met with his requirements. We were able to agree budgets and timescales to ensure that the fishery was closed for the minimum length of time. We commenced work in June 2015 working to a two month timescale. All the rooms were completely taken back to a shell, walls demolished and a new layout prepared, including a new shopfront. We undertook a full rewire fitting modern indoor and outdoor lighting, cameras, security alarms and sufficient sockets to operate a modern fishery. In addition floors and walls were tiled, resin floors laid, hygienic cladding and stainless steel sheets were fitted throughout the preparation areas. New plumbing, drainage, menu boards, stainless steel fixtures, signage and replacement doors and windows were installed in line with the design. The final finish met with Sonny’s expectations and within the first week he immediately saw an increase in sales, which have continued to date.
